Assassin's Creed Introduces Unexpected Attack on Titan Event for Holiday Season
In a bizarre partnership that challenges traditional predictions, Ubisoft has unveiled an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Disclosed
According to the official statement, "An unusual confrontation leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where whispers of forbidden practices and fearsome changes reverberate through the obscurity." The plot presents a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a clandestine cult.
The mission focuses on "peculiar experiments and a monstrous adversary" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Iconic Settings and Transformations
The trailer showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview finishes with a dramatic scene showing a character, probably the hostage, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Items and Extra Material
Players who finish the quest will obtain an special katana together with multiple items hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-inspired attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Special weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Latest Free Story Content
This update also introduces the game's newest free story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive skills: Naoe debuts a performative variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also includes a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This represents not the first time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with famous anime series. The series previously featured a 2020 crossover story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
